We have over 50 years experience in the manufacturing of “VAW Batter Flours” which are now manufactured in our modern production facility at Heywood. We also use only top quality flour and ingredients. We offer a range of battermix products designed to provide you with the perfect finished product for your business, recognising that different styles of batter suit different areas and needs.

Our aim is to offer customer choice so we therefore stock a full range of national brands manufactured by Goldensheaf and Middleton Food Products.

Top Tips for Top Quality Flour:

  • Store your flour where it is COOL and DRY
  • In Winter’s cold mix with tepid water
  • Fresh Batter mixed for every opening enhances product quality
  • In Summer’s heat use chilled water
  • Always add flour to water - and do not overbeat (or protein will separate out)
  • Don't add Salt (it ruins oil, splits batters and some customers may not want added salt)
