Frozen Fish ...

VA Whitley has been selling fish for over twenty five years during which time we have developed an excellent supply chain for quality Cod and Haddock to ensure you receive only the best products for your business.

Wet or 'Fresh' Fish can often be far from fresh as it can take many days before arriving in the Fish & Chip shop. Or Frozen at Sea Fillets retain and preserve the natural flavour of the fish and no more than a few hours elapse from catching to freezing on board the vessel after filleting and cutting to size.

Now that is FRESH!!

Working with major trawler owning companies and suppliers, whose focus is to catch and process the finest quality fish from the cold waters of Iceland and the Barents Sea, we can offer you an excellent range of products.

Our suppliers are very mindful of their responsibilty about fish stocks and are members of either the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and or the Iceland Responsible Fisheries Scheme whose main purpose is to promote sustainable fishing and to safeguard seafood supplies for the future.

Our range of frozen at sea products consists of traditionally graded cod and haddock and the increasingly popular skinless boneless tighter graded frozen at sea fillets, which was first brought to the market by VA Whitley and The Q Partnership. We also sell a range of IQF (Indivually Quick Frozen) cod and haddock fillets which carry very little glaze or ice and are therefore highly economicall and require little or no preparation.

VA Whitley are also members of FASFA (Frozen at Sea Fillets Association) which is a trade organisation representing trawler owners and distributors of frozen at sea filleted fish from Russia, Iceland, Norway, Faroe Islands, Spain, Greenland and the UK. Since its formation in 2000, it has worked to improve the understanding of frozen at sea fish with the consumer and trade markets by promoting environmental, quality and healthy eating messages.

We also have an extensive range of coated fish products, which include, fishcakes, scampi, fish fingers, and calamari, as well as breaded and battered fish fillets.

Fish is a natural resource with availability constantly changing so for more information please contact your regional sales manager or tele-sales team.
